Apps · Dashboards · Customer databases

Software built around your business.

Off-the-shelf software makes your business work its way. I build it the other way round: apps, dashboards and customer databases shaped around how you already work, whether that's a solicitors' practice, an estate agency or a farm office in Weardale. Designed, built and supported remotely for years; on site when it earns the trip.

Sound familiar?

Every business hits the same wall.

The tools that got you started stop keeping up. That's usually the moment people ring me.

What I build

Four kinds of useful.

Everything below gets built the same way: start small, fixed price, working software in weeks. You own the result, your data and your logins.

Dashboards

The whole business on one screen: sales, bookings, stock, jobs, cash. Live numbers you glance at over breakfast instead of a surprise at month end.

Customer databases (CRM), jobs & invoicing

Every customer, quote, job and follow-up in one place, so nothing slips. Usually all-in-one: the CRM, the project and job management, and the invoicing in a single system, set up from off-the-shelf parts or built from scratch when nothing off the shelf fits.

Apps

Web and mobile apps for the jobs pen and paper can't keep up with: job sheets, checklists, bookings, deliveries, timesheets. Built to work in a field with one bar of signal.

Automation & connections

The glue that saves hours every week: invoices that raise themselves, forms that file themselves, and systems that finally talk to each other instead of being retyped into.

How I work

Small first. Useful fast.

No year-long projects, no surprises on the invoice. A working first version goes in early, then grows with you.

Who it's for

Built for the way the Pennines do business.

Different trades, same problem: too much running on memory, paper and one overworked spreadsheet.

Practices & consultancies

Clients, deadlines, documents and billing in one system built around the practice.

Estate & land agents

Listings, client records and follow-ups that keep pace with the market.

Holiday lets & hospitality

Bookings, changeovers and the season at a glance.

Farms, producers & trades

Orders, job sheets, stock and invoicing that work from the van or the yard.

Questions

Asked often, answered straight.

What does custom software cost? +

It depends on the size of the job, but you'll always get a fixed price up front, and I'll tell you honestly if something off the shelf would do the job cheaper.

What actually is a CRM? +

A customer database: every contact, quote, job and follow-up in one place instead of scattered across inboxes and notebooks. The letters stand for customer relationship management, but customer database says it better. Most of the ones I build go further: jobs, projects and invoicing in the same system, so it runs the whole business, not just the address book.

Can you take over something another developer built? +

Usually, yes. I'll review what's there, tell you straight whether it's worth keeping, and go from there.

Do you only work in the North Pennines? +

The Pennines come first and local site visits are free, but software travels well and I take on remote work from further afield.

Will my team need training? +

Software built around how you already work shouldn't need a manual. Handover includes walking your team through it, and I stay on hand afterwards.
