Usually weeks rather than months. The time goes on bringing devices up to standard, not on the paperwork: updates, multi-factor, admin accounts tidied, old kit retired. A small firm with tidy kit can be through in a fortnight; a messier one takes longer, and I'll tell you which you are after the first look.
Two parts. The certificate fee is set by the scheme and depends on the size of the business. My fee for getting you ready and through it is fixed up front, once I've seen what needs doing. There's no figure on this page because it would be a guess; a figure in your inbox after a half-hour call wouldn't be.
Only if a contract or insurer names it. Plus is the same standard with an independent audit on top. If nobody's asking for it, the basic certification is the right place to start, and moving up later is straightforward.
Yes. Ransomware works by making your files unusable and charging you to get them back. A backup that lives off site, can't be reached from your network and has actually been restored once turns that from a closed business into a bad afternoon.
